Slurpee Bowl

We play two games this week:
  • 7th Annual Hangover Bowl, New Years Day, 10 AM @ Waters
  • Saturday, 1/5/13, 9 AM @ Waters
We played 8v8. The snow-sleet started at started right at kick off. It was like running in a Slurpee. West had Ken, Tony, Heat Seeker, Billy B, Tommy B, HH, Rick the Pick and new T fan, Jordan. East had Gio, the Judge, Big Jim, Tom C, Mike O, Eric, Mark H & Roger M. West beat East 35 - 20. West scored on 5 TD passes from Ken to Tony (2) and Billy B (3). East scored on 2 TD passes from the Judge to Tom C and Mark H and a TD pass from Gio to Big Jim. QB pressure was provided by the Camdenator who got to the QB twice for sacks.

Play of the day was a 40 yard TD run from the Camdenator who out ran some large pursuit and some Mr. T theatrics. The performances reminded me of other great theatrics. "You want tough? You got tough. BA!" Ahh, acting at its best!

Special thanks to Mr. T videographer Alexis for videotaping the game.

Imagine if you were a dog and could do anything you wanted? Hmm, I like the way he stalks his prey and pops out from behind the trees, but he's not very discriminating. Start the year off right: play football and keep your nose where it belongs!

Mas Football!

The always politically correct Mr. T. Putting the "mas" back in Christmas!

Our next game is Saturday 12/29 @ 9 AM @ Waters

On Wednesday night we played 5v5. West had Mike O, Tom C, Big Jim, 4X & a feeble Tommy B. East had the Judge, TD Banker, Patrick M, Criminal & London Collin. East beat West 32 - 19. East scored on 4 TD passes from the Judge to TD Banker (2), Criminal & London Collin and on a TD pass from Patrick M to Criminal. West scored on 2 TD passes to Tom C, one from Mike O and one from Big Jim. Mike O also ran one in.

On Saturday it was 6v6. And it was cold and windy. Did that stop Mr. T football? Right. West had Billy B, Criminal, the Judge, Patrick M, Eric and, on his annual pilgrimage from LA, Sugar Bear.  East had Big Jim, 4X, the UF,  Tom C, Tony J & Heat Seeker. West beat East 27 - 7. West scored on a TD run by the Judge and 3 TD passes from the the Judge to Billy B. East scored on a TD pass from Big Jim to the UF. QB pressure was provided by the Sackinator who bagged 2 QB sacks!

I managed to re-injure my hamstring last week. I tried to play on Wednesday and decided to sit Saturday out again. Oh well. What to do. It's not like I'm gonna take a season off. I mean, how many more seasons do I have? 10? Maybe. So one season is a lot. I started looking for some alternative workouts. I came across this and thought about getting one for Christmas. "If you can sit, you can get fit." Wow. How easy is that? Too easy.  So instead I decided on a different alternative workout: backwards running. I read it really helps to strengthen the hamstrings so that's what I've been doing. Round and round Waters field so I don't have to worry about running into anything. Seems to be working. But I definitely look pretty goofy - more so than usual. So I thought I might as well get a goofy costume - like this guy. I was thinking maybe the wig. Jojo thinks I ought to get the shorts. Hmm.

I videoed the game and I still suck at it (Sorry Sugar Bear. I missed your big catch.)

See you all Saturday para mas Football!

Wednesday Night Lights

Special Edition Mr. T Football for the Holidays. We will play two games this week.
  • Wednesday night, 12/19, 7 PM @ Waters.
  • Saturday, 12/22, 9 AM @ Waters
Saturday had a much improved turn-out. We played 8v8 with 3 new T fans. The Heat Seeker brought Simon Says,  Tim D brought Kyu and 4X sold a chair to Ryan while he was working at HH Gregg. 4X found out Ryan was from Vienna and told him all about Mr. T football and Ryan, henceforth to be known as HH, could not resist. West had the Judge, Kyu, Simon Says, HH, London Collin, Bullet Bob, Murdock & Tommy B. East had Tim D, Gio, Heat Seeker, Eric, TD Banker, Mark H, 4X & Billy B. West beat East 40 - 28. West scored on 5 TD passes from the Judge to Simon Says, London Collin & Tommy B (3). London Collin also scored on the "play of the day" - a pick 6 to end East's last chance for a comeback. East scored on 3 TD passes from Tim D to Billy B (2) and Heat Seeker and on a TD pass from Gio to TD Banker.

Jojo, aka Mrs. T, was making cookies last night. These are Virginia cookies - not Colorado cookies. Jojo does not approve of Colorado cookies. Alas. Anyway, she told me I could lick the beaters. So I say, "That's me. The beater licker. " And Jojo says, "I don't know about that, but your definitely the beater!" Ha ha ha! Hysterical!

With rotating injuries we had rotating videographers. First Gio went out with his back, then HH hurt his leg, then I pulled my hamstring, again. Ugh! But, with the video camera on the sideline, at least there is something to do. Here is part of the game. With a special Holiday performance from Gio at the end. A man of many talents!

Merry Christmas everyone. And lick your beaters if you can!

Reali-T 2

Next game is 12/15, 9 AM @ Waters

Lame. Where is everybody? The only injuries on the field this year have been Dancing Star, Mike W and me. I heard Roger M has a bad hand and I know Rick the Pick is nursing a bad foot and Kevin W broke his collar bone and Big Dan has a bad back. But what about the rest of you? Ken, Patrick M, JC, Tom C, Tim D, Murdock, Mike P, the UF, Bullet Bob, Tony. Let's have the 10 of you show up this week. Added to the rest that have been out more than once: The Judge, 4X, Gio, Eric, Billy B, Criminal, TD Banker, Mike O, Big Jim, Heat Seeker, London Collin. We'll have one hell of a game.

This week is was 4v4 with Sackinator providing the QB pressure all day. East beat West 34-32. East had Gio, TD Banker, 4X & Eric. Then Heat Seeker showed (got off a plane, straight from the airport - dedication!) and subbed with West. West had the Judge, Criminal, Big Jim and Billy B. West scored on 5 passes from Gio to TD Banker (2), Heat Seeker (2) and 4X. East scored TDs on 2 passes from the Judge to Big Jim & Billy B and on TD passes from Big Jim to Criminal & the Judge. The Judge also ran one in. The sackinator got one sack! There were several great plays all day, like TD Banker's 90 yard TD on the first play of the day, but the best has to be 4X's TD reception in tight double-coverage wrestling the ball away from the Judge and Billy B.  Watch the video and see for yourself.
Sorry to say I haven't gotten much better at taking video. I did get better at editing. There's even music! But that's it. I'm done. I plan on testing this hamstring ready or not. Without football, Saturday might as well be... Monday. Sooooo depressing.

I got one for you. What do Clay Matthews (26), Brian Urlacher (34) and Tommy B (48) all have in common? I mean besides the obvious that they are all three bad a$$ mother f-kers? That's right! All three have been sidelined this season with a pulled hamstring. But Clay and Brian are still out. Tommy B is back. Which means we could use a new videographer....

Are you up to the task? It's not like I set any kinda high standard you'd have trouble keeping up with. If you're still injured, this could be your calling. Maybe your a T fan that doesn't play? We used to have Fred S but he's been MIA - I think he reenlisted in the Corp. Maybe. Anyway, it's easy. Just show up and I will hand you the camera. It's criminal's camera and I think he owns it, legally. But you never know with a criminal.

And now T fans,  Our National Anthem. WTF? Seriously John? Why?

Reali-T

Next game is 12/8, 9 AM at Waters.

The numbers were pretty weak for week two. Only 4 v 4 plus 1 then 4 v 4. The Judge played permanent QB for a while and then joined  West  with Billy B, Criminal, Bullet Bob & Mike W (for a while) and London Collin (replacing Billy B). East had Mike O, Tony, Eric & Big Jim. West beat East 21-14. West scored on TD catches by Criminal and Billy B and a pick-six by Criminal.  East scored on a TD catch by Big Jim and on a TD run by Mike O. All 3 passing TDs were thrown by the Judge. QB pressure was provided by the Turk, the Sackinator, Connor N and new Tiny T fan, Zack W. Big plays were the pick by Criminal to turn the game around and, on the final play of the day, a sack by Connor N! We lost Mike W to another hamstring. Hopefully he will be back soon.

I can't play, I can't score, I can't win. I'm injured and angry. So what's an angry old man to do? Show up and shoot some video! Here it is. All the day's action with some slo-mo and, eh, informed commentary.
Sorry boys but I did miss a few plays: Billy B's touchdown and a couple of catches by Tony. If my hamstring does not get better I am sure I will get better a shooting video. Here's hoping I don't (become a better video taker).

Maybe the thought of making the highlight reel will get some of you out of bed and on the field this week.

Do you know Joe?

Next game is 12/1, 9 AM at Waters.

Ah yes. Thanksgiving football. In case you did not know it, the reason we have a Thursday off in November has nothing to do with Pilgrims or Native Americans or pumpkins. It has everything to do with football. We play football. We watch football. For that, we are thankful.

Opening day we had 11 vs 11. West beat East 38 - 25. West had Ken, JC, Tim D, Gio, Heat Seeker, Patrick M, Mark H, Criminal, Jordon P, Tommy B & new T fan, Mike W. East had 4X, the Judge, Dancing Star, London Collin, Tom C, Roger M, the UF, Eric, Mike P, & new T fans George and Mike O. Playing Tiny Ts was the Turk for West and the FF, Sammy S for the East. Scoring for the West was Ken who scrambled for two TDs and threw four TDs to Patrick M (2), JC and Tommy B. For the East, the Judge threw 2 TDs to Tom C and George and Mike O threw 2 TDs to Eric and George. Big plays were a long pass to the Turk and a sweep play the FF, both for about 30 yards. Dancing Star went down with a rolled ankle; first casualty of the year. Hopefully he will have a quick recovery.

On day 2 we played 8v8. East beat West 18 - 13.  West had Tim D, JC, Billy B, Tommy B, Criminal, Mike W, Mark H & Gio. West scored TDs on passes from Tim D to Billy B and from JC to Criminal. East had TD Banker, Judge, Tony, Eric, Heat Seeker, 4X & London Collin. The Judge threw three TDs to Tom C, Collin and TD Banker. Play of the day was a London Collin interception in the endzone and that he ran back 63 yards to West's 37-yard line. The Turk and Cooper D provided QB pressure all day. The Turk registered two sacks and Cooper D got one. Yours truly, Tommy B, suffered the second injury of the season, a pulled hamstring that took me out of the game early, painfully, sadly and angrily.

Thanksgiving day is always a busy day for football. No exception this time. We had three different groups show up at Marshall HS to play on two fields. Mr. T fans, starting at 8 AM, were first. First come, first served. Am I right? So there is this big oafish guy claiming he has rights to the field because he has a "key" to the gate that we all squeezed through. We did not see it that way and Mr. T football has the Judge and the Judge has the inside contact. This is the actual conversation between the Judge and, lets call him, Cletus:

Cletus: "I have the key. You guys are trespassing. We have rights to this field."
Judge: "Do you know Joe?"
Cletus: "How did you get in here without a key?"
Judge: "Do you know Joe?"
Cletus: "You guys must have climbed the fence."
Judge: "Do you know Joe?"
Cletus: "You guys need to leave."
Judge: "Do you know Joe?"
Cletus: "We're gonna have to contact the authorities."
Judge: "Do you know Joe?"
Cletus: "You're making me mad!"
Judge: "Do you know Joe?"
Cletus: "I'm gonna tell your mom."
Judge: "Do you know Joe?"
Cletus: "But it's not fair!"
Judge: "Do you know Joe?"
Cletus: "Okay, we'll just use this end of the field."

Do you know Joe? 'Cause If you don't know Joe, you don't know Jack.
Mr. T knows Joe. See you Saturday, 12/1.

P.S. After doing some research about hamstring pulls I realize I may not be able to play for three weeks. Very. Very. Depressed. So if you see some guy wandering aimlessly around town, disheveled, disheartened, downtrodden, dejected and probably drunk, buy him a beer. He needs it.

The 7th Annual Mr. T Football Club Kickoff

I'll bet you thought I'd forgotten, huh? Ha! Not a chance. Now that the elections are over, we can pour our hearts and souls into something really important. Mr. T. Football. Are you ready? Suckas?

Opening day is Thanksgiving, 8 AM at Marshall HS. Game 2 will be Saturday, 11/24 at Waters at 9 AM.

I'd like to remind everyone that everything I write in this blog is true. 100%. Always.  Sooo.....
the other day a T fan (I won't mention any names) was talking to me about our format - you know: show up, play, leave. He thought we should we do more to get in touch with our inner-selves, or something like that. This is the actual conversation:
"Hey Tommy B, when we play football, I think we should do more to get to know each other."
Me: "Huh?"
"You know, talk about how playing football makes us 'feel'."
Me: "WTF is wrong with you?"
"I was thinking we could do an encouragement circle after each game."
Me: "Circle jerk? WTF?"
"No. Nothing like that. That would only be for the UF to enjoy. I mean like we get in a big circle and say something encouraging about, say, the person to your right."
Me: "WTF is wrong with you?"
"Seriously, an example might be like I say 'Judge, I really like the way you spread the ball around and threw it to all the receivers'."
Me: "Like the the Judge is gonna throw it to you if you can't catch."
"Well, yea,  or how about 'Criminal, I really like your new acid-green tights. They're very slimming."
Me: "WTF is wrong with you?"
"When we talk about our feelings, it will make us all feel better. Just think about it. Okay?"
Me: "Uh, sure."

Not gonna happen.

So, amidst all the scandal surrounding the CIA these days, I came across a photo of a potential new T fan. Here she is promoting her new book.
She looks like she might be able to hang. What do you guys think? See you all Thanksgiving, suckas!

EZ CHEEZE

Dangerous. It's how we roll. The highlight of the night, was, of course, The Nail Game. The highlight of the highlight, was, once again, George B.

Some Background

There are a couple of techniques employed to compete in the Nail Game. Most take calculated swings. Hammering the nail in, bit by bit, trying to hit solid without bending the nail. Some try the all or nothing approach. Focus, wind up and swing hard. This group usually misses, but when they do connect, it usually means victory. George's method is more like this second group, but, unlike his peers, George does not focus. At all. He always seems to be aiming for the vicinity of the nail and usually misses by 2 or 3 inches, leaving large indentations in the stump. Everyone usually covers their eyes or ducks behind something when George winds up. Because, like my mom used to say, "It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye, or a testicle." Okay. She never said testicle but I think it was implied.

The Set Up

After about 2 hours of watching George miss, we decided to provide some incentive - lets see how much of a mess George can make. We decorated George's nail: Peanuts encircling the base, Vienna Sausage stuck on the head and some ezcheeze spooged all over the sausage. You get the visual? Oh man, this gonna be funny no matter what happens.

The play by play:
  • George starts his wind up. (Note that this is always a production, but now George is especially dramatic).
  • Everybody is ducking for cover, hiding their eyes, backing up. (Because, even if the nail does not shoot out somewhere, you got to figure that sausage and cheeze is gonna make a real mess.)
  • George swings, hard! Wham!!!! (I feel something wet on my face. It's not blood. No pain. My eyes and testicles are still intact. Oooh - vienna sausage splatter. Yuck.)
  • Silence. (No one is screaming, so no one is hurt.)
  • Everyone is completely dumbfounded. Still silent. (It seemed like a long time.)
  • We all look at the log. The food is gone, mostly. Splattered into infinite tiny particles. (But, wait..... What happened to the nail?)

Holy sh!t! He sunk it! George sunk the f--king nail!!! (Disbelief, mass hysteria and uncontrollable laughter.)

Another classic INGA moment. Funniest ever. GB. The EZCHEEZE INGA KING!

Thanks to everybody that made it over, I had a blast. Laughed so hard my ribs hurt. Bike hard all Summer boys. Football is just seven months away.

Garage Party

Friday, April 13th in the garage at 705 Birch Street. Bier, darts, ring toss, more bier and of course, the Nail Game. I'll have bier, chips and peanuts. Bring bier and anything else you want to eat like potted meats, Vienna sausages, pork rinds  - yuck. Come over anytime after 7.

Joe A has the stump ready. It came from the Cathedral, from an oak tree that was taken out by the crane collapse. We will be drinking too much and playing with hammers and nails on Friday the 13th. Dangerous? Perhaps. But we are Mr. T fans and that's how we roll. Now if George B is back in action, probably will want to wear goggles. Especially if he shows up with that pirate patch!

Here is some psychedelic footage from the T Party.

SuperBowl Saturday

The T Party is on Saturday, February 18th at 8 PM at 705 Birch Street SW, Vienna. All Mr. T fans are invited!

Super Bowl 2012
We played 6v6 for the Mr. T Super Bowl. West beat East 35-15. West had Ken Anderson, Patrick M, Kevin W, Mark H, Big Dan, Heat Seeker and Tommy B. East had The Judge, Dancing Star, The UF, 4X, Roger M & Big Jim. West lost Heat Seeker very early in the game when he injured his ankle and they played inspired ball for their fallen comrade. Ken Completed 4 TD passes for the West to Kevin W, Mark H, Patrick M and Tommy B. Patrick M also threw a TD pass to Ken. For the East, The Judge completed 2 TD passes both to Big Jim. Ending the season on a high note, we successfully converted all of the extra points. Kickers we are! Rushing the QB for both teams was Danny W who registered a sack!

Stats
Although for the most part it is meaningless (since we all switch teams so often, being the free agents that we are) West beat East 10 - 6 this year. The scoring was much closer: 486 - 437.

For this year's attendance record we had some Good, Bad & Ugly. The Good was we played 16 games - most ever. We also had 10 players play in more than 10 games and we had 52 different players - another record.  4X played so much football he's almost 3X. Almost. The Bad was we lost at least 7 players to injury. Hopefully they will all be back next year. And the Ugly, despite having the opportunity to play 16 games, 42 players played in less than 10. Its really not that hard. You just need to have the right priority - which is ALWAYS football. You need to work out hard and constantly so that you can play over and over and over and never get tired or hurt. You also need to make sure you do not let your family schedule anything on Saturdays between Thanksgiving and the NFL Superbowl. It's easy. This is an actual conversation I had with my family:

"Honey", Jojo said, "Do you think we could take a trip to the islands this Winter?"
I replied, "Well, so long as we don't have to leave before Saturday afternoon and we are back by Friday night."
"Ah, come on Dad", Emily said, "can't you just miss one game?"
To which Jojo responded, "Now Emily, you know how important football is."
Then Emily said, "Oh. OK. I forget sometimes."
"That's OK Em", I said. "Even some of the Prissies I play football with forget sometimes."
"They just don't have their priorities right," said Jojo.
"Well",  said Olivia, "I am just glad my Daddy can still kick a$$ and is not old and fat like those other Daddies that can't play football."
"That's right Liv", I said, "How about if we take a trip in the middle of the week and you girls can cut school?"
"That sounds awesome, Dad!" said Olivia. "Your the best, Dad!" said Emily.

At this year's T Party we're gonna play some air guitar with Jimi, Jimmy, Mick & Pete. I like to swing my long hair around like I did when I was a teenager. I hope everyone can make it!

When Mr. T plays Air Guitar, Jimi haunts the night.

Pro Bowl 2012

Mr. T Super Bowl
Forget about Sunday, It's Mr. T's Super Bowl Saturday at Marshall HS @ 9 AM. This is your last chance. After the game it's the VI @ 11 AM.

Pro Bowl
We only had 9 players this week. 4v4 is a lot of running. East beat West 31-20. East had The Judge, 4X, Tony, Dancing Star and Richard D.  West had Gio, Bob V, Big Dan and Tommy B. The Judge threw 4 TD passes to Tony (3) and Dancing Star. He also ran one in. Richard D had 3 interceptions and that ended up being the difference in the game. Gio threw 3 TD passes to Bob V(2) and Tommy B. You may notice the score looks odd. That's because we have goal posts at Marshall and we are attempting to make our extra points. East was 1 for 5, West was 2 for 3. Kickers we are not.

It's a bit of a trick getting on to Marshall's field. They like to keep the gate locked for some reason. But does that stop Mr. T fans? Rhetorical question. Climbing over is one way to get in but you can also squeeze through. Watch as 4X demonstrates. I noticed that it was much easier getting back out. I think he stretched the chain.

Injuries
We have had a lot of injuries this year. It's football. It happens. Some regular players that have been MIA:
  • Billy B - foot
  • Tim D - ankle
  • Rick the Pick - knee
  • London Collin - back
  • Eric - hand
  • Big Jim - shoulder (though he keeps playing - throws left-handed!)
  • The UF - butt (recurring injury - not football related)
Eric's hand

And I haven't seen Ken since he got smacked in the head. Ken, what's up? Next week is it. I'd like to see some of the other regulars come out. For the last game of the year lets add these players to the nine we had for the Pro Bowl: Justin, Tom C, Patrick M, Criminal, Mike P, Big Jim, The UF, Mark H, Ken, Roger M, Kevin W and the Heat Seeker!

Time waits for no man... unless that man is Mr. T. See you Super Bowl Saturday, suckas.

Ice Bowl 2012

Mr. T Pro Bowl
The pro's head to Hawaii for a special game every year. In honor of that tradition, Mr. T will head to Cunningham Park ES (it's just like Hawaii!) to play on grass this week. The field is behind the school. Unless the fields are too wet, then we will play at Marshall HS (also just like Hawaii). I will send a note later in the week if it looks like the weather will force us to play on turf. But unless I say otherwise, go to grassy Hawaii! Game time is 9 AM.

I was asked recently if the stuff I write in this blog is all true. The answer is yes. Absolutely. 100 percent.

Ice Bowl
We had 5v5 for the Ice Bowl. East beat West 56-28. East had The Judge, Tom C, Dancing Star, The UF, Mike P and Criminal. West had Patrick M, Big Jim, 4X, Kevin W and Tommy B. The Judge threw 7! TD passes to Tom C(3), Dancing Star(2), Criminal and one to the Turk! The Judge also ran one in. Patrick M threw 2 TD passes to Big Jim and Tommy B. Big Jim also threw 2 TD passes to Patrick M and Tommy B. Player of the day was the Turk who, in addition to his TD, also registered 2 sacks and 37 hurries! He's the 75 pound QB menace.
Ice Ball
The score difference was actually much worse early on but West was making a steady comeback. If we could only have played for the rest of the day and maybe have someone turn the lights on for us I feel certain West would have had victory. Alas, so many footballers have their familial commitments that we cannot play all day... and night. Of course, I could play all day and night and its not just because I have the wind for it, which I do. I also have Mrs. T's permission. And blessing. This is the actual conversation I had with Jojo when I got home after the game:
"How did it go?" Jojo asks.
"We lost." I say. "But we were making a comeback."
"Why did you stop?"
"Oh, everyone said they had things they had to do, you know, for their families."
"Wow," she says, "If you wanted to play all day, you could. I know how hard you work all week honey. Saturday is your day. "
"Thanks Jobabe. You're the best. But the rest of the guys aren't as lucky as me."
"Well", she says, "they just need to grow a pair."

More pics from Patrick M

The A Team
I was encouraged to post a list of players that did not show up for the Ice Bowl that are now formally on the P Team. But I can't do that. I'm too nice. Instead, here is a picture of the players on the A Team.
The A Team
Not pictured are Tom C - who had to leave early as soon as he scored 3 TDs (he makes you feel so, uh, used) - and Patrick M who is taking the picture. Suffice to say there are two teams, the A Team and the P Team. If you ain't Patrick or Tom and you ain't in this picture....

When a can of whoopass is opened... Mr. T jumps out.

See you Saturday at Cunningham Park Elementary sucka!

Shrinkage

Game this week is Saturday, 1/21, @ 9 AM @ Marshall HS. Lacrosse will be taking over Waters Field and Madison HS.

Jojo, aka Mrs. T, has approved February 18th for the 'T' Party. Put it on your calendar!

Turn out for the game was weak. I know it was cold but we had some serious shrinkage. And I'm not talking about the guys that showed up. I am talking about the guys that did not. Was it too cold? We played 5v5. West beat East 35-28 in a good back-n-forth game. West had Patrick M, Big Jim, Criminal, Bob V and Tommy B. East had The Judge, 4X, Tom C, The UF and Kevin W. For the East, The Judge threw 4 TDs all to Tom C. Tom C is very tough in man-coverage. The Judge also had 2 interceptions. For the West Patrick M threw 3 TDs to Big Jim, Bob V and Tommy B. Big Jim also threw a TD pass to Patrick M. And Big Jim had 3 interceptions - one a pick six. Quite a day for Big Jim. Providing 75 pounds of QB pressure for both sides was the Turk.

Dream Bowl
We played 4v4 on MLK day. East beat West 42-14. Playing for East we had The Judge, Roger M, Mark H, Criminal and Tommy B. West had Gio, Heat Seeker, 4X and Big Dan. The Judge threw 4 TD passes to Roger M, Criminal and Tommy B (2). The Judge also ran for a TD. Roger M had two picks, one was a pick six. The West got their scores on two kick-off returns for TD. Both by the Heat Seeking missile! I have a suggestion: DO NOT KICK THE BALL TO TITO! The pass rusher was the Turk again and this time he got a sack! Quote of the day was from Mark H who, while trying to catch up to a pass, yelled "Aaahhhhhh!!!! Why am I so damn slooow!" Pass incomplete.

The Judge and I bet on the Packers-Giants game. I lost.

Did you ever notice, at the end of the Cialis commercials on TV, there's a message that says, "See our Ad in Golf Digest"? It doesn't say anything about being in "Football Digest". Because it ain't in there. Correlation? I think so.

East beat West 27-26 in a close come-from-behind win. East had The Judge, Dancing Star, Bullet Bob, Eric, Big Jim, Patrick M and 4X. West had Tim D, Billy B, Tommy B, Heat Seeker, Gio and Tony. The Judge threw four TD passes to Bullet Bob (2), Big Jim and Patrick M. Gio threw four TD passes to Tony (2) and Tim D (2). Extra points were the difference in the game - The Judge ran three in for the East.

So I am watching the playoffs games this past weekend with my daughter, Olivia. This is an actual conversation we had:

"Dad, why are all the football players always spanking each other's butts?"
"Oh", I say, "that's because they are all part gay. You have to have some gay in you to play professional football. That's why I can't be a professional football player."
Liv thinks about this for a few seconds and says, "Yea, you definitely don't have any gay in you." She thinks some more and then says, "What about Bard and JP?"
"Good question.",  I say, "I guess they just missed their calling." Just like I should have been a writer...

How about some politics? Don't you think Michelle Bachman is super hot? I sure am gonna miss her.

Did you know the Pope has a fish decal on his car with the letter T inside it? See you Saturday, suckas.

Three Games. More Pain. More Gain.

Game this week is on Saturday, 1/7 @ 9 AM @ Waters Field. So far, no Lacrosse try-outs to move us off Waters.

Bourbon Bowl
We played 9v9 on the last day of 2011. It was hot and sunny. West beat East 30-26 in a very close game. West had Tim D, Bob V, Kevin W, Tommy B, Ken, Jeff, Tom C and new T fan Kevin F and high school player, Matt. East had The Judge, Dancing Star, Justin, Eric, Roger, Murdock, Patrick, 4X, Mark H & high school player Connor M. Plays of the day were pick six for Connor M and one-handed TD grab by the Dancing Star. Tom C and Bob V also had some real nice TD grabs. Both of these were thrown by Tim D. Ken threw a TD pass to Tommy B and Ken ran for a TD. The Judge threw TD passes to Justin and the Dancing Star and also ran for a score.
One-handed TD grab!

Pain Bowl
We played 5v5 on the first day of 2012. Another nice day for football. It was hot, sunny and... foggy? Huh. Anyway, West beat East 28-6. West had Justin, Bob V, Big Jim, Criminal & Tommy B. East had The Judge, Dancing Star, Kevin W, Eric, Mark H and 4X. Justin threw 4 TD passes to Bob V (2), Criminal and Tommy B. The Judge hit Dancing Star for East's only score. Play of the day came on Bob V's second TD. After the catch he scrambled for about 40 yards leaving a wake of East-side jock straps. QBs felt the heat of peewee rushers Danny W and The Turk.

Pity Bowl
We played 8v8 on 1/2. West beat East 38-6 on a cold and windy day. West had Tim D, Justin, Bob V, Big Jim, Kevin, Gio, Tommy B, and new T fan Kevin R. East had The Judge, Dancing Star, Mark H, 4X, Eric, The UF, Tito and new T fans Cody and Clarence. Player of the day has to be Tim D. He threw 5 TD passes - one each to Gio, Justin, Kevin R, Big Jim and Tommy B. He also caught a TD pass from Justin. The Judge hit Clarence for East's only score.

There's been a lot of injuries lately. Particularly groin injuries. At one point 4X offered to help the Judge with his injury. We are not sure what 4X was planning to do, but fortunately the Judge declined. If you prefer to not have 4X help you out, there is a special stretch for avoiding that particular injury. You get down on your hands and knees, spread your knees outward, press your buttocks backward and, well.... hard to describe. But we did decide on a name. Its called the "Sandusky stretch". The UF is quite good at this stretch. He can demonstrate. Criminal can assist.

Footballs. There are real ones made of leather. And fake ones made of synthetic material. The Judge pointed out that the real ones feel more firm than the fake ones. Strange, don't you think?

Mr. T knows Victoria's Secret. See you Saturday.
